What Phonak is known for
Phonak is the Swiss maker in the Sonova group, and it has built its name on hearing aids that adapt without being asked. Its AutoSense system reads the room and shifts settings continuously, so someone who does not want to touch an app or a button tends to get on well with Phonak.
It is also the strongest answer we carry for single sided hearing. Phonak's CROS system sends sound from an unaidable ear across to the better one, and the range around it is deeper than anyone else's.
The lineup runs from Audeo, the receiver in canal workhorse, through Naida for powerful losses, to Virto for custom in ear fittings, with the Infinio and Sphere platforms carrying the newest processing.
Questions buyers ask us
Neither is better across the board. Phonak's strengths are automatic adaptation, powerful behind the ear models and CROS for single sided hearing. Signia leads on speech separation and own voice. Your audiogram and your listening life decide.
How we narrow it down
Three things decide the right hearing aid, in this order. It is the same order these filters follow.
01
Your hearing loss
Your audiogram decides the device type, before anything else does.
02
Your lifestyle
Where you actually listen decides which features earn their price.
03
Your budget
We show three honest picks, then you choose. No upselling.
